Dear Life, Hydrangea is one of my favorite flowers and bloom throughout the summer in the East. My sister’s Connecticut gardens are a symphony of blooms. Recently, I dreamt I created an incredible earthworks art and had a performance of Symphonic Poems images with music for hundreds of people. A wonderful vision. My hope-filled future.

Dear Life, Arlene and I went to an all-day painting workshop “Angels In The Dark” then met my daughter Tracy Parkin for dinner at the Water’s Edge. We ate Lobsta’ Rolls as they say in New England then walked the gorgeous seaside property. It was a magical day. I gave Tracy the painting I made in the workshop.

Dear Life, My spiritual reading was “Home Blessing”. I’ve been a guest over the past few weeks and have thanked every home I’ve been in. Traveling reminds me, Home Is In My Heart. I do my best to be present, loving, and kind while I reunite with family and friends. Today I’m happy to meet one of Arlene’s mentors in Westport, CT, Roe Halper. She’s a working artist and teacher in her eighties. Each day is an adventure.

Love Letter to Life 08.08.2022 My Family
Dear Life, I had a wonderful visit with my grandson, Christopher, daughter Tracy, granddaughter Laurel and fur baby Murphy. We sat around Tracy’s kitchen table all afternoon talking, eating and laughing. Tracy and I were reunited in 2020 through Ancestry.com after 50 years of separation. Their presence in my life is a miracle.
My heart is whole and overflowing with love.

Dear Life, The Markoya siblings – Louis, me, Arlene and David – Rosie the Matriarch, David’s wife Bonnie and Arlene’s husband Steve, sat around the dining room table eating dinner, talking, playing a game and laughing. It was an adult evening of Kids At Play! It’s not to often that we have a night together. I’m grateful for my family. Today, I’ll enjoy the beach.

Dear Life, I went swimming in the ocean yesterday and will be there again today. Beach chairs, packed lunch, coconut-smelling sunscreen and the sound of the surf. I grew up on this beach. Saltwater is healing. My body floated on the surface and felt blissful. It’s been three years since I submerged myself in saltwater. I’m with my sister in our Happy Place!

Dear Life, We had a family picnic at my sister’s house. My nieces with their husbands and kids came, my mother, Rosie, and my daughter, Tracy. Rosie sat with Tracy, telling her stories. Then said, “Intelligence and beauty are in your genes”. Tracy replied, “ Now I know where that comes from”. Rosie takes the credit for all our good characteristics. At 92 years old, she’s still sharp as a pin, so we give her the credit with smiles!
