Love Letter to Life 07.19.2022 Blood Counts

Dear Life, I go for bloodwork at noon and I’ll see my blood counts. I feel anemic but know how to navigate it like an expert sailor. Move when the wind is in my sails. Be patient and rest when there’s no wind. Pretty simple. Tomorrow I see oncologist and receive treatments: Immunotherapy infusion of PEMBRO and vaccination injection of SURVIVAC DPX. These are “nicknames” for lengthy medical names that no one uses on a daily basis. Thankfully the drugs are working regardless of their names!

Love Letter to Life 07.18.2020 Open My Heart

Dear Life, Each morning upon waking, I stretch my body and affirm powerful words for health, wealth, abundance, and love. My arms reach up to heaven and I twirl my hands while I say out loud, “I am loved and loving.” Blood pumps through my heart and my body. I understand the value of my prayers and my life. Cancer brings each day into a new perspective. Live in love. Forgive easily. Play often. Create daily. This is it.

Love Letter to Life 07.16.2022 Lifted By Love

Dear Life, Thank you for all the messages of love and support. I am grateful for every person celebrating LIFE with me. I am grateful I live in Santa Fe where there’s an Immunotherapy Clinical Trail and it’s working to eliminate cancer. I am grateful for the medical professionals of NM Cancer Care and Christus who take care of me and the cancer patients in need of their help. I am grateful for my amazing Body that is strong and resilient. Cancer is a persistent disease so I continue immunotherapy treatments next week. Then I get a three week summer vacation! Hooray!

Love Letter to Life 07.12.2022 Energy Levels

Dear Life, For a couple of days, I needed 14-16 hours of sleep and rest. I have severe anemia. Why am I surprised when my body says, “I need lots of rest”> Years of anemia and I find it hard to rest. Guess you can call me “a slow learner”. Today I feel more energy. Just read my PET/CT Scan report. From what I could decipher, looks good. YAY! I’m going to see the radiologist in an hour. He will put up all the images up on three big screens and tell me everything. I’m grateful that he welcomes me into his “space ship office” and we take a trip together!

Love Letter to Life 07.10.2022 Rain Changes Everything

Dear Life, Here are some of the positive ways rain changes everything in a drought-region: Fires are put out. Sleep is better with the sound of rain. Birds sing louder at sunrise. My skin plumps up with humidity. Sunrises and sunsets explode with cloud-filled colors. Earth goes from burnt umber to green. Rivers flow fast while filling up to their banks. My yard looks like alfalfa is growing in patches throughout the pink stone gravel. Watercolor paintings only whisper a drop of the immense beauty when the high desert has monsoon rains. Good for everything. Good my Soul.

Love Letter to Life 07.08.2022 Fasting and PET/CT Scans

Dear Life, It’s a day fasting followed by 1:30 appointment to get PET/CT Scans. At 2:00pm I receive an IV then sit in darkened room for an hour while the chemicals spread throughout my body so decent imaging is captured. The scanning starts at 3:00pm; Into the tube and stay still for 45 – 60 minutes. I get to eat afterwards. Next week, radiologist will go over results with me. My stomach is growling!

Love Letter to Life 07.06.2022 Actualizing Ideas

Dear Life, There’s a creative theory: When an idea “sparks into your consciousness” and you can see it from inception to completion, this is the blueprint for the idea’s success. Then it’s a matter of cycling through the steps to make it become reality. I’ve had this “spark of an idea” many times and successfully completed the projects. Seven years ago, over a kitchen table, my sister told me an idea for a joint project and I had a “spark experience”. The actualization has been unfolding since then and now going into a new life cycle.
We change biologically every seven years and so do long-range projects.
I’m looking forward to this next cycle!
