Love Letter to Life 05.14.2025 Lighten Up

Dear Life, I visited New Mexico in 1990. This photo said, “your life is about to change”. I was living and working in New York City with no intention of moving but LIFE had other ideas. June 1991, my job at Fashion Institute of Technology ended. I took a leap of faith and decided to checkout Santa Fe. I shipped books and art supplies. Everything else was gifted to a young couple who were moving into NYC. Paying it forward. I landed in my Soul’s Home. Today, I smile as I remember. Lighten Up.

Love Letter to Life 05.11.2025 Happy Mother’s Day!

Dear Life, Happy Me! I was reunited with my daughter in 2020 after she was released for adoption in 1968. After 50 years of searching, I put my DNA on Ancestry.com. Tracy found me the on the same day I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lymphoma. Mother love surged through me and my life force has defied the odds. I am here, healthy, and celebrating our love. Another gift: my mother got to meet Tracy and have a relationship before Mom died in Aug 2024. To all mother’s and families, miracles happen. Keep the faith and love one another. Feeling lucky!

Love Letter to Life 05.09..2025 A Promise

Dear Life, “I promise never to leave my voice and heart in the past again”. This “promise” was painted five years ago. I am going through my storage bins, remembering the past is necessary for self-awareness. Letting go is essential for moving forward. Found some treasures that now have a place in my home. Other things, as beautiful as they are, can be a gifted treasure for someone else. I am blossoming.

Love Letter to Life 05.06.2025 Stormy Weather

Dear Life, We have had days of storm fronts moving through New Mexico with hail, rain, wind, flooding, and cold temps. Woke to 35 degrees, rain, and gray sky. The precipitation is needed to prevent fires and drought so we are grateful. Feels like a stay-under-the-covers day!. But I have to rally, get out of bed, and go to last workshop, Creative Expressions. Energy Portraits illustrate the weather and my wet attitude. Suit up and show up.

Love Letter to Life 04.28.2025 Upcoming Changes

Dear Life, I am in the final three weeks of having a studio on the campus of Santa Fe Community College. By May 18th, I have to move everything on campus to home studio. Last Friday, I began the inventory process of all the work I created since January 2024. Very productive time and inspiring to be in the SFCC community. This summer, I will be on the road visiting family and friends. All changes work together to create new experiences of living. Letting go and letting life move me forward.

Love Letter to Life 04.21.2025 Survival

Dear Life, I am happy to see Spring blooms survived the days of cold, snowy weather. Warm temps are forecasted. Woke early, excited about working in studio until the end-of-May and planning Summer Road Trip from Santa Fe, NM to Maine with many beautiful stops along the way, visiting family and friends. I have survived 5 years of cancer treatments and presently am in a thriving time of health. DO IT NOW is the energy wave I am riding. Headed to the Atlantic ocean.

Love Letter to Life 04.20.2025 Happy Easter

Dear Life, Woke to snow covered trees but sun shining this morning. Then a cloud descended. I am in a cloud on earth. Mystical. Beautiful. Perfect weather for Resurrection Day. I know the sun is still shining above this cloud. Isn’t this the truth each day, snow or rain, storms or upsets. Whether or not I see the light, it is there, within me and above me. Sending all my peeps love!

Love Letter to Life 4.15.2025 All Lined Up

Dear Life, My blood test results were great. Normal. My body is healing and generating new, healthy cells. It is a “moment in time” to celebrate. We all can celebrate when we receive positive news. We can all support one another through every “result” whatever it may be. My faith and hope is here for you. Thank you for being in my community. I love you.

Love Letter to Life 04.14.2025 Blood Test

Dear Life, I have blood tests and doctor visit this morning. We continue to track the “health” of my body on a monthly basis. What are the red and white cell counts, platelets, ANC, and overall levels of all my blood/body functions. Whenever tests are on the schedule, there’s a knot in my stomach. Most cancer patients understand this anxiety. No matter how I physically feel, there is the question about what is happening inside of me. I remember to breathe, be in the moment and release the tension.
Acceptance is the key to inner freedom.
