Love Letter to Life 07.27.2022 Wind In My Sails

Dear Life, My friend, Sue Sturtevant, sent me her photo of this schooner off the shore of Portland, Maine. Arlene and I are headed there today. We will have lunch with Sue in Portland then head north to Orland where we will stay for a few days at a friends lake house. Adult Summer Camp. Beautiful weather and fine friends.
The wind of love is in my sails.

Love Letter to Life 07.26.2022 Rosie, The Fashionista

Dear Life, I took a red-eye flight on Sunday to NYC. Arlene picked me up and I’m with family in Connecticut. Visited our mother yesterday who is going strong and looking sharp at 92 years old. Love the star Tee with sun and moon necklaces! A Fashionista! In the evening, my daughter Tracy visited. At 9:00 pm, we went outside in Arlene’s backyard to watch the FIREFLIES. I was over the moon standing between my daughter and sister.
More photos to come, I promise!

Love Letter to Life 07.22.2022 Complete Response

Dear Life, The Immunotherapy Clinical Trail Team rejoiced as they told me “You are in Complete Response”. The drugs are working. I will continue on the trail for 16 more months because cancer is persistent. However, I am in a new zone: Complete Response. I received two treatments on Wednesday leaving me tired for a couple of days but feel terrific today. Let’s celebrate!

Love Letter to Life 07.19.2022 Blood Counts

Dear Life, I go for bloodwork at noon and I’ll see my blood counts. I feel anemic but know how to navigate it like an expert sailor. Move when the wind is in my sails. Be patient and rest when there’s no wind. Pretty simple. Tomorrow I see oncologist and receive treatments: Immunotherapy infusion of PEMBRO and vaccination injection of SURVIVAC DPX. These are “nicknames” for lengthy medical names that no one uses on a daily basis. Thankfully the drugs are working regardless of their names!

Love Letter to Life 07.18.2020 Open My Heart

Dear Life, Each morning upon waking, I stretch my body and affirm powerful words for health, wealth, abundance, and love. My arms reach up to heaven and I twirl my hands while I say out loud, “I am loved and loving.” Blood pumps through my heart and my body. I understand the value of my prayers and my life. Cancer brings each day into a new perspective. Live in love. Forgive easily. Play often. Create daily. This is it.

Love Letter to Life 07.16.2022 Lifted By Love

Dear Life, Thank you for all the messages of love and support. I am grateful for every person celebrating LIFE with me. I am grateful I live in Santa Fe where there’s an Immunotherapy Clinical Trail and it’s working to eliminate cancer. I am grateful for the medical professionals of NM Cancer Care and Christus who take care of me and the cancer patients in need of their help. I am grateful for my amazing Body that is strong and resilient. Cancer is a persistent disease so I continue immunotherapy treatments next week. Then I get a three week summer vacation! Hooray!
