Love Letter to Life 11.08.2024 Daily Practices

Dear Life, Daily practices help me move forward especially during challenging times: prayer and meditation, reading, writing and painting, being of service to others, washing the dishes, making the bed, watering and talking to the indoor plants (they are great listeners), house cleaning, organizing art supplies, walking and seeing the beauty around me, being present, smiling at the cashier, giving a hug to someone. Feel the light of faith within and be in the spirit of hope. Practice gratitude. I love you.

Love Letter to Life 11.06.2024 Unsettled

Dear Life, The reality that half the people in the United States cannot see a woman of color become our president and would rather vote for a felon, perpetrator, and indecent man, deeply saddens and unsettles me. I’m calling it the way I see it. We can do better than this. Please help to change with fierce love.

Love Letter to Life 11.04.2024 Dixon Re-Do

Dear Life, I had such a good time at the Dixon Studio Tour on Saturday, I returned on Sunday with Pam Platt, long-term artist friend. We went to Rift Gallery and artist studios, ate lunch on the porch of the Dixon Co-op, and watched the weather change. I love northern New Mexico, the land, its people, the cultures, the art communities. I love my body feeling “completely me” while on a hiatus from cancer treatments. Snowfall this morning. All good.

Love letter to Life 11.02.2024 Dixon Studio Tour

Dear Life, An Autumn tradition is to head north to the Dixon Studio Tour. I enjoy seeing and supporting the work of artists. Each year I purchase a clay bowl from Miya. Her family fills it with green chili stew and gives everyone home-baked chocolate chip cookies with coffee. Generous and kind people. Many good artists showing their work. Suggestion: go for a drive on this beautiful day wherever you live and participate in supporting living artists.

Love Letter to Life 10.31.2024 BOO!!!

Dear Life, Halloween brings childhood memories of making haunted houses, dressing up in costumes and consuming massive amounts of candy. Sugar high for weeks! Now the “making” and imagination takes place in the studio. I am finding my way into creating new work. Also taking steps to actualize a project dear to my heart: more to be revealed once it is well underway. I will contain and focus my energy for the months ahead and hope to see the “seeds” that are being planted in Autumn come to fruition in the Spring. Wishing you a happy day for Imagination to surprise you! Boo!!!

Love Letter to Life 10.28.2024 Where’s Tracy?

Dear Life, I woke, shuffled into the kitchen, pushed the coffee pot button, and thought, “Where’s Tracy?” After 10 days of companionship, I miss the energizer-bunny greeting me with a big smile each morning. Good-natured, bright light, super smart, easy to be with, adventurous, fun, and beautiful. All this and more. I am deeply grateful for every minute we shared. Thank you.

Love Letter to Life 10.26.2024 Mother and Daughter

Dear Life, Tracy and I had a wonderful road trip to Jemez Mineral Springs and Los Alamos on Thursday. The weather was perfect and the soaking pools healing. We traveled a loop of breathtaking scenic areas. Last night we ate an early dinner then walked around the plaza. I walked out of Overland Sheepskin Company wearing a beautiful Alpaca reversible coat and Tracy with warm colorful Alpaca socks. Thank you, Rosie, for the gifts! You will be thought of each time your daughter and grand-daughter wear their Alpaca. Laughter lifted into the star-filled night as we scrubbed the seats of my car after an ice cream spill. A very special visit filled with love.
