Love Letter to Life 08.24.2026 My Heart

Dear Life, My daughter and I had a farewell dinner a week ago. My two weeks in CT went fast and I headed back to Santa Fe. This photo reminds me of the heart shared between mother and daughter, the love of family and friends, and the places we call home. I deeply know that no matter where I am in the world, “home” is in my heart, and there is no measure of miles that separates me from loved-ones. We are one.

Love Letter to Life 08.09.2026 Sister, Daughter, Mother

Dear Life, This photo was taken yesterday of my sister Arlene, my daughter Tracy, and me. Tracy and I were separated after her birth in 1968. Then a miracle happened on 01.14.20. We reunited through Ancestry: DNA confirmed a mother-daughter match. It was the same day I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lymphoma. Due to Covid travel restrictions and my cancer treatments, we couldn’t meet in-person until 2021. Our love and family circle keeps expanding. Love heals.

Love Letter to Life 05.23.2026 Baby Me

Dear Life, After 73 revolutions around the sun, I still enjoy seeing this photo of baby me! Blessed with a joyful Spirit and amazing Life Force, I am still here, filled with gratitude and wonder. Thank you Life and everyone. You Rock My World With Love!

Love Letter to Life 03.06.2026 Daily Practices

Dear Life, I am grateful to have daily practices: prayer and meditation, reading and journaling, art-making and writing, walking and breathing deep, reaching out to friends and participating in community. These are the foundation for living a sane and sober life no matter how the world is spinning. I maintain my serenity consciously. I remember there is light and joyful love even in darkness. Lean Into Love.

Love Letter to Life 01.17.2026 Backwash

Dear Life, Anniversaries can amplify a backwash of emotions. I ask, “What are these feelings and where are they coming from?” Thoughts flow in, like fluid moving backward.
Ah Hah! December 2019, sitting alone in the parking lot of the Cancer Center with the realization that I might have cancer flooded the car with tears. I was diagnosed two weeks later. Our tears flow through the body of every cancer patient, moving us from diagnosis to being here today. I am with you. You are not alone.

Love Letter to Life 01.11.2026 Lean Into Love

Dear Life, I am person who believes in the deep, abiding love within me, guiding my steps, moving me forward and, hopefully, contributing to others. Creative energy, expressed through my words, images, art, and actions, helps me to rise and meet the day. May you feel your heart of love and let it help. In this way, darkness lifts and a light of hope shines.

Love Letter to Life 8.11.2025 PETSCAN DAY

Dear Life, This morning, I had a PetScan. It’s been 5 months. The report will be ready in 48-72 hours and I’ll go over it with my oncologist Thursday after Bloodwork at 9:00am. Anyone who is a cancer patient knows the wait between now and then feels like an eternity. So what does a girl do? Make Mac n’ Cheese, my go to comfort food. The veggies are there to make me “feel” healthy. I also have a pot of Green Chili Chicken Stew on the stove. Cook, Love and Live!

Love Letter to Life 06.20.2025 Beautiful Blossoms

Dear Life, Connecting with people and being creative is what I value in my life. Feeling the love, smiling into eyes, meeting someone new and adding them to the “treasures”. I had fun drawing with Violet at the kitchen table. Had lunch with Michelle and Arlene at Terrain Cafe in Westport, CT where I once lived. Each day as I walk up the stairwell to the guest bedroom, I see Arlene’s incredible family portrait gallery, a series she is working on. My mind, body and spirit are happy.
