Love Letter to Life 10.22.2024 Northern New Mexico

Dear Life, The excitement and activity of Tracy’s visit overwhelmed my body. Yesterday, I needed many hours of sleep. Woke feeling refreshed. I’ll go to the studio this morning while Tracy works remotely. This afternoon we will drive the High Road to visit friends in Nambe and Truchas. The pleasure of having dear ones meet fills my heart with joy. This time of year is beautiful with the clear light and changing colors of autumn. I am grateful for the new experiences of life and love each moment.

Love Letter to Life 10.19.2024 Joy

Dear Life, Tracy, my daughter, and I are having fun with friends, hanging at home, riding around in the car, getting lost in minerals and crystals at The Ark, drinking Mexican Hot Chocolate at Kakawa, and being silly at breakfast discussing “hot men” (excuse us for our digression). Today Tracy meets a friend in ABQ and Sunday morning runs a half-marathon. I’m putting a request into the weather Gods to lighten up on the storm fronts. Major wind, rain, hail, snow up north, thunder and lightening. This is what loving each other looks like.

Love Letter to Life 10.18.2024 Tracy Meeting ZOZO

Dear Life, My daughter asked to see my studio at SFCC so we went there yesterday. Had a great time showing Tracy my art and introducing my community to her including Zozobra, who turned 100 this year. There are many sculptures placed throughout campus. Today we will visit galleries and stores near the plaza. Dinner at Santa Fe Bite with friends. Local flavor and fun.

Love Letter to Life 10.16.2024 Daughter In-Flight

Dear Life, My daughter, Tracy, arrives tonight for a 10-day visit. Woke early with excitement. Plans with friends are being made plus a road trip to Jemez Hot Springs. I released Tracy for adoption in 1968. When she turned 18, I began a search for her that went on for thirty years. On 1.14.2020, she contacted me through Ancestry.com, the same day, I had been diagnosed with Stage 4 Large B-Cell Lymphoma. I was given the gift of hope and love beyond measure. A miracle happened that day and continues each day. Don’t quit before the miracle!

Love Letter to Life 10.13.2024 Enjoying Friends

Dear Life, I am grateful to share my life with beautiful friends: a road trip on Thursday and Saturday, my first lunch/card party in new home serving a Greek Feast. Today I will drive to Galisteo for the Artist Studio Tour and visit friends. I lived in the village 1999-2009 and remain close to artists still living there. As I write this, I am eating toast with Marscarpone cheese and french Strawberry Jam. Heaven. Life is good.

Love Letter to Life 10.11.2024 Dwan Light Sanctuary

Dear Life, An hour drive east of Santa Fe, the Dwan Light Sanctuary offers a place of serenity and beauty on the campus of United World College, Montezuma, NM. A friend and I drove there yesterday after a delightful lunch in Las Vegas, NM. Sometimes, playing “hookie” mid-week is just what we need! My dear friend and mentor, Virginia Dwan, was the visionary and donor of the sanctuary. I remember it being conceptualized and actualized, a wonderful gift to the community. Play “hookie” on sunny day and be bathed in the prisms of healing light.

Love Letter to Life 10.10.2024 Storm Series

Dear Life, Waking with the sun. Thinking of my older brother In St. Petersburg; no power or water but house not damaged. Many branches down. Transformer exploded last night. Hurricane Milton on a path of destruction. Climate change. Changing the planet, weather systems, and lives. My loving thoughts go out to all those touched by the “storms” of weather, cancer, and life. May they find peace and support in their time of need.
Yours Truly, Pamela Rose

Love Letter to Life 10.08.2024 Storm

Dear Life, I returned to campus studio and worked: 36″x24″ painting surged forth. The colors are washed out in photo by sunlight but you get the picture. I’ve been through a personal storm, the aftermath of emotions expressed through my work. I am in a reprieve from cancer treatment for 12 weeks to give my body time to rejuvenate. My thoughts go out to the communities and my family in the path of Hurricane Milton. May they be safe during the storm.
Yours Truly, Pamela Rose

Love Letter to Life 10.06.2024 Brilliant

Dear Life, My body rhythm is on a new cycle: early to rise. The pre-dawn hours are quiet and peaceful. I meditate and journal. Enjoy looking words up in the dictionary. BRILLIANT: very bright, glittering, striking, distinctive, distinguished by unusual mental keenness or alertness – ex: a brilliant artist. I turned the bedroom light on at 5:00am. Hope my inner light shines throughout the day. Plus there is that thing called a nap. Love my new home. Love my life.
