Dear Life, Yesterday, I had second vaccine shot. I’m in bed with aches and tiredness so I am reading, “The Cancer-FIghting Kitchen” from page 2:

Dear Life, No matter how unsure circumstances can appear, I feel peace within me that surpasses all understanding. Dear Life, I have connected with friends I’ve known most of my life. This is one of life’s best gifts: that feeling of picking up a conversation after 10, 20, 30, 40 plus years as though it had not stopped. Spirit connects us. Laughter, tears and love heal.

Dear Life, I have succumb to long hours of sleep with vivid dreams. This “dream time” is as important as my waking hours. Dear Life, I live in the high desert, my Soul’s home. However I grew up close to the ocean and miss it. My mind travels in the paint to the tides and waves of water. Feels healing. I will be swimming in the Atlantic this summer. It’s a date with the sun, sand, and surf.

Dear Life, Waiting to visit family and meet my daughter in CT; waiting for the second vaccine shot on March 30th; waiting for the results of a biopsy and prognosis; waiting for my hair to be long again; waiting for the sun to rise and this new day to surprise me with unexpected joy.

Dear Life, The surgical pelvic bone biopsy on Tuesday left me quiet. Body needed rest. I will know the results next Wednesday when I see oncologist. The PET Scan reading shows lesions (cell groups) growing on my hip and shoulder bones. This waiting time requires a deeper commitment to living in the moment and being focused on life as it is today. Cloudy and cool. Creative and simple. Loving and trusting.

Dear Life, This Spring there will be the celebration. I will meet for the first time my daughter and grandchildren in person delayed a year due to the pandemic. Miracles happen. Life brings me to my knees. Inner strength stands up and moves me forward towards love. This is the power of Life.

Dear Life, This time of year is always so curious to me. Winter makes snow for us to wake up to and the warmth of Spring sun melts everything by noon. Winter whispers “stay inside” while Spring calls “come outside”. Winter enjoys solitude but Spring is tingling with a fever and I don’t mean the second Covid vaccine! Ah, the mingling days of mid- March when Winter is dating Spring.
