Love Letter to Life 01.10.2024 Baby, It’s Cold Outside

Dear Life, Temperature in Santa Fe is 14 degrees. High will be 28. My body temperature is lower than most folks so my mind is screaming, “GO SOUTH!” Yes, it’s a loud-mouth at times. However I start painting workshops next week at the community college and set up an on-site studio. So, Baby, layer up those clothes, keep the house toasty warm, heat up the car and be grateful. My Body is upright and ready to begin a new experience of community at the college and creativity in my work: painting, drawing and writing. The excitement warms me up!

Love Letter to Life 01.05.2024 Spiritual Warrior

Dear Life, Tuesday’s PetScan is clear. Relief. That is now 6 months with clear imaging. My blood counts have tanked due to Covid which I had after Thanksgiving and had to be hospitalized. I’ll receive a white blood booster injection Saturday to help my immune system. Today I go for an infusion 9-1pm. I do not have to take oral chemo meds for the time being. I am grateful for my resilient body, medical care and the loving support I receive from family and friends. And I continue to be in awe of my amazing Life Force. Thank you for being with me on this journey!

Love Letter to Life 12.31.23 Looking Back, Going Forward

Dear Life, I celebrate this day with reflection of the past year 2023 and my intentions for 2024. This evening, I will go to a recovery meeting 6-7pm, with appreciation that this community has helped me sustain my sobriety since 1981. I hope I helped a few souls along the way. Then a couple of friends will join me at my home for dinner. I feel gratitude, peace, joy, and love in my heart. Thank you, family and friends, for your support and care, prayers and gifts given to me freely this past year. I send you my love beyond measure.
Yours Truly, Pamela Rose

Love Letter to Life 12.30.2023 Do Not Resuscitate

Dear Life, While in the hospital, I wore a purple wrist band for 6 days that had only three letters on it: DNR, Do Not Resuscitate. When you can’t breathe, have no strength, and need assistance to walk, those “letters” have real meaning. It was unsettling but it’s in my living will. I’m grateful the powerful infusions of anti-viral drugs did the job of clearing my lungs and eliminating Covid. I made this collage. Hoping not to have any more “bracelets” from the hospital in my future. I am grateful to be upright and feeling my powerful Life Force. Resilient and Resurrecting!

Love Letter to Life 12.27.2023 Holiday Flashes

Dear Life, This season, I’ve quietly thought about the past holidays: childhood excitement and the belief in Santa Claus, decorating the tree and lighting up the house, going on drives to see decorations, the Radio City Rockettes Christmas Spectacular, storefronts and Rockefeller Center tree in NYC, making “homemade” gifts, baking cookies and cooking special meals, gathering with family and friends, going to “midnight mass” with my Catholic father and siblings, coming to Santa Fe in 1989 and experiencing the magic of Christmas here with farolitos and luminaries all along Canyon Road, the plaza downtown and adobe homes. Old traditions and new. Love and light.

Love Letter to Life 12.25.2023 Scary Santas

Dear Life, Why did Mommy put me on this scary “ass” man’s lap? (Notice the game to my left!) Wise at One! Santa’s Sleigh has taken another revolution around the planet, delighting children and families with celebratory traditions. Wherever you are, whomever you’re with, however you celebrate this day, know you are loved, my Spirit to yours.

Love Letter to Life 12.21.2023 Happy Solstice

Dear Life, The planet has moved around the sun 365 days since this photo and I am still here, celebrating Solstice with you. My gratitude extends within the Still Point of today’s perfect balance of light and dark. And my joy expands outward as each day will bring a few more minutes of light. Lean into love. It heals and makes us our best selves.
Love to everyone!
