Love Letter to Life 10.21.2022 Open The Door

Dear Life, I am Day Two of a 30 Day Discovery Program called “Surrender Pamela”. Who and what shows up when I let go of “Pamela’s Plan” and live inside of the moment, letting the day unfold, listening to intuition and trusting the guidance I receive. This is a real deal, living experience as opposed to lip service and thinking about spirituality. I felt leaves crunch beneath my feet as I walked through my neighborhood and took photos.
Felt magical.

Love Letter to Life 10.20.2022 Junk Mail

Dear Life, I picked up my mail and here’s what I found: A pile of junk along with a couple of lovely cards and a bill for storage: price going up from $125 to $164 per month. My mind blew up! I complained to friends. I called storage; they didn’t return call. I jumped on Zillow looking for a bigger house to put all my stuff in. In other words, I reacted. This morning in meditation I heard the words, “Don’t become the junk mail”. How easy it is to slip into “the price of living is raising daily” and complain. This thinking robs me of the joy and abundance that is in my life. Shift perspective and speak with storage manager to negotiate that monthly price!

Love Letter to Life 10.18.2022 Duende; In Memory of Virginia Dwan

Dear Life, I had an inspiring lunch with friends from Las Vegas, NV visiting Santa Fe. The feeling of “duende” was present while we discussed the arts, design, inspiration, and creative business. I need more of this in my life. It begins within me, then moves outward when I sit at “the table” of friends, art, writing, music, good food, literature and poetry, dance and play. I am an artist, who has been facing life and death issues for several years: duende, “the spirit who brings artists face-to-face with death and who helps them create and communicate memorable, spine-chilling art”.

Love Letter to Life 10.16.2022 Tracy’s Light

Dear Life, I had the joy and pleasure of being with my daughter, Tracy, for a 10-day visit. She flew back to CT yesterday. The kitchen felt different this morning without her sitting at the table, cheerfully saying, “Good Morning”. She wakes to the day 100% while I slowly come to! The gifts of daily living with a loved one are numerous especially after a lifetime of separation. My heart is full of gratitude and love. Thank you, Tracy.

Love Letter to Life 10.14.2022 Blue Angel Roadster

Dear Life, My Subaru Crosstrek is a great road trip car. Tracy and I put on the tunes and rolled across the miles in four states. Thursday we went up the mountain to see the Aspens and sunset. Loving Life. On Friday, we visited the hippie town of Madrid and ate at the The Holler, where they serve fried green tomatoes, fried okra, and Po’Boys. Tracy went salsa dancing with my friend Peter while I vegged out. All that healthy fried food did me in!

Love Letter to Life 10.13.2022 Don’t Worry, Be Happy

Dear Life, Dr Herbert, my oncologist, said, “Stop worrying. Let me do the worrying. I have Treatment Plan A, Plan B, Plan C, Plan D…” PetScans are a momentary slice of imaging into the complex body. I have to pull my head out of the “reports” and put my thinking into self-care and living well. Yesterday’s treatment laid me out for the afternoon but I enjoyed looking at the photos from recent road trip. Here’s Tracy and I in the Hanging Gardens of Lake Powell; beautiful green plants growing within red rock.
Friends, thank you for all the positive vibes.
Yours Truly, Pamela Rose

Love Letter to Life 10.11.2022 Four Corners High Five

Dear Life, What a trip! Tracy and I put 1100 miles on Blue Angel. We took a quick side trip to Four Corners so we could stand united in NM, AZ, UT, and CO. Ate our packed lunch at a picnic table there. Drove home through the villages of Northern NM and arrived in Abiquiu just as the sun was doing its awesome twilight thing. Today after Tracy has an online-work meeting and I go for blood work, we will eat at Dolina’s: Hungarian Chicken Paprikash.
You can call us the Hungarian Gypsies!

Love Letter to Life 10.10.2022 Beauty Unites People

Dear Life, Yesterday, Tracy and I hiked to the Hidden Garden where bright green plants grow from the red rock walls. It was amazing. To cap off the day, we drove to Wahweap Rim to watch the sun set and the full moon rise. There were people from many cultures and countries standing together. We clapped in unison for both the setting and the rising. A perfect ending to our trip to Lake Powell. Today we head back to Santa Fe taking a northern route to see more beauty. Road Trip!
