Love Letter to Life 10.11.2022 Four Corners High Five

Dear Life, What a trip! Tracy and I put 1100 miles on Blue Angel. We took a quick side trip to Four Corners so we could stand united in NM, AZ, UT, and CO. Ate our packed lunch at a picnic table there. Drove home through the villages of Northern NM and arrived in Abiquiu just as the sun was doing its awesome twilight thing. Today after Tracy has an online-work meeting and I go for blood work, we will eat at Dolina’s: Hungarian Chicken Paprikash.
You can call us the Hungarian Gypsies!
Yours Truly, Pamela Rose

Love Letter to Life 10.10.2022 Beauty Unites People

Dear Life, Yesterday, Tracy and I hiked to the Hidden Garden where bright green plants grow from the red rock walls. It was amazing. To cap off the day, we drove to Wahweap Rim to watch the sun set and the full moon rise. There were people from many cultures and countries standing together. We clapped in unison for both the setting and the rising. A perfect ending to our trip to Lake Powell. Today we head back to Santa Fe taking a northern route to see more beauty. Road Trip!

Love Letter to Life 10.09.2022 Flying High

Dear Life, Yesterday, I saw the sun rise, the sun set, and the full moon rise over the incredible northern AZ landscape. Tracy successfully ran a half-marathon, stopping along the way to photograph the beauty and a rattlesnake. Added that to her wildlife sitings. We went hiking at Horseshoe Bend and took a sunset drive witnessing a huge full moon rise up over the mesas. Ate authentic Mexican food at La Fiesta, a lively restaurant where every booth was carved and hand-painted.
Flying High and out to find The Hanging Gardens today!

Love Letter to Life 10.08.2022 Lake Powell Half-Marathon

Dear Life, Tracy and I had an incredible scenic drive from Santa Fe to Lake Powell in Page AZ. She’s running a half-marathon. The 7 hour road trip WOWED Tracy who had never seen the rocks, mesas, mountains and moonscape of NM and AZ. We arrived mid-afternoon to 75 degrees and a variety of pre-race activities including American Indian Hoop Dances. We ate outside watching the sunset. I drove Tracy to her race at 5:30am this morning… she’s running and I’m back at our AIRB&B, in bed with the pillows! GoTracyGO!

Love Letter to Life 10.06.2022 My Sunshine

Dear Life, Tracy’s plane broke through the clouds yesterday at 12:30pm and brought sunshine! Lunch at Cafe Fina then home to show her my digs. We walked to the Capital Building where we saw an excellent fabric/quilting exhibit, “Weather or Not”, plus the Round House collection. Highly recommend you locals take a walk through the halls of our State house. We walked back home, hung out and ate my Turkey Chili for dinner. The beginning of a daughter’s visit, a dream come true.

Love Letter to Life 10.01.2022 Storms

Dear Life, My scan results indicated that cancer cells are back in several places in my lymph nodes and bones but not organs. Large C Cell Lymphoma is an aggressive cancer. It moves around, hides behinds healthy cells and then rises up. Immunotherapy treatments will continue. I was knocked off-balance for a couple of days. Then looked around and appreciated, there is a lot of abundance and good in my life. The clear scan in July was two steps forward. These results are a step back but I’m still on the journey. I appreciate all the support I receive from family and friends. Now out the door to the hospital for an echocardiogram. Me and my team work on weekends!

Love Letter to Life 09.28.2022 The $100 Zucchini

Dear Life, Yesterday I went to the Farmer’s Market after receiving chemicals for scans that make me a little spacey. Somewhere along the way, I lost a $100. I remember seeing it in my wallet while pulling out singles but possibly I paid $100 for a zucchini or a dozen eggs. Or I dropped it on the ground. Need to be more careful after treatments and scans handling money and navigating life. Someone has it and I thought, “Pay It Forward”.
