Dear Life, It’s been a few days of family events and outings in CT and NYC. I visited Rose’s new home with all my siblings, two family luncheons plus a dinner at my daughters with grandchildren. My older brother Louis was visiting too. Went to Neue Gallery and Central Park. Today visiting the Bronx Botanical Gardens. Rest is gold. I’m sleeping like a log!

Dear Life, Yesterday, we had a family lunch, surprising my mother, Rose. I was with all my siblings, daughter, and sister-in-law. , Afterward, it was a miraculous moment to introduce my daughter Tracy to a best friend, Carole, in my sister’s kitchen.
Life’s miracles continue to happen. Lots of love and laughter.

Dear Life, I am so grateful to be in NYC with my sister, Arlene. We went to our favorite coffee and flower shop, Remi. Lavender Latte and Rose Latte. Beautiful and the best coffee in NYC sitting amidst the orchids, flowers, and plants. Happy.

Dear Life, I have a three-ring binder filled with musical score paper that I paint watercolors in called Symphonic Poems. This painting celebrates spring and the joy of traveling to NYC/CT for a two-week visit with family and friends. It’s been a year since I’ve visited, and it’s been quite a year. Today my blood counts are holding and cancer, although present, is shrinking and not growing. I received Immunotherapy Infusion at noon and am now packing. Excitement fills the Spring Air!

Dear Life, Yesterday while going through my large picture books, this photo fell out of The Anthology of Tulips. I remembered instantly the year and place it was taken: 2011 post-divorce and post-braces. We were hanging out at a friend’s house shooting pool and playing cards. I grew up with a pool table in the basement and was quite the shark. You can see it in me. How about those teeth and that smile?

Dear Life, Anemia, Lymphoma and the Pandemic found me working in bed until mid-morning for the past couple of years. Truth be told, I’ve never been a person who is up and out of the house early. My creative juices wake up slowly and I enjoy waking up with them through writing, reading, looking words up in the dictionary, finding emotional connections between my dream and waking life. Ah, the comforts of soft cotton bedding, multiple pillows, and piles of books are my bed companions entering the new day.

Dear Life, Today, my sister Arlene and I begin a 100-Day Creative Project with Suleika Jaouad’s online community. Suleika has Leukemia. She’s had Stem Cell Replacement Treatment twice, including this year, and is a creative, bright light with a generous voice bringing along thousands of “friends” into her world, The Isolation Journals. Arlene and I will be writing and reading to one another daily. I will continue posting my Love Letters with artwork and images. Spring brings renewed HOPE and BUNNIES.
