Love Letter to Life 12.01.2021 Blood and Biopsy Results Soon

Dear Life, Between 9 – 10am today, I’ll hear the results of blood tests and biopsies, Dr. Snyder and I will discuss. I slept well, feel rested and strong, am eating breakfast now and know, I go with love and support within and all around me. Here is a Word Poem I wrote and a collage I made.

Sooner Or Later
Time is an illusion
Simple acts of faith
Are the measurement
Of our reality… Be
What you came here
To be… The Conduit of
Simple Acts of Love

Love Letter to Life 11.30.2021 Happy To Be Together

Dear Life, A week ago, Alix and Gary from Maine visited me. We enjoyed decades of friendship in Santa Fe and now maintain our relationship across the miles. Many summers, I’ve happily journeyed to their home and lake house in mid-Maine. We eat lots of lobster, play games and cards, kayak and canoe, go driving around, walk and talk. They are stars of living light in my life. I’ll see them on their return visit this week as they drive back across the country to their home in the east. Gary, thank you for the beautiful photo. Lots of Love!

Love Letter to Life 11.29.2021 The Best Day Is Today

Dear Life, I don’t often post NYT articles because one, most people won’t read them, and two, they are not my words but the opinion of others. But this article especially struck me as important and a counterbalance to yesterday’s letter. I am declaring, Today is my best day.. and will go forward living each day as my best day. Please read this well-written article to find the evidence of how we can focus our thoughts and actions to create “the best out of the ordinary”. The rigors and fatigue of the pandemic (and cancer) are changing my mental and emotional landscape, as well as my physical movements. Here are ways to appreciate life as it is, this day. I’m always grateful for a lift from someone else’s voice.

Love Letter to Life 11.28 2021 Birds and Diseases of Prey

Dear Life, Hawks are birds of prey with keen eyesight, intelligence, independence, and adaptability. Hawk also symbolizes spiritual awareness and messages. This is a collage I made yesterday. The disease, lymphoma, is a predator in my body. Medical treatments destroy its cells then within weeks, months, the lymphoma cells adapt and pop up somewhere new. My ability to cope with this comes from spiritual awareness, medical interventions, and the messages of love I receive daily. Covid and all its variants are predators, too. My friends, please be careful and take good care of yourselves. This is real.

Love Letter to Life 11.17.2021 My Little Tree of love

Dear Life, Three years ago while I was in the hospital for 11 days after Thanksgiving, my sister flew to Santa Fe to be with me. When I returned home, this little silver tree was on the table with written affirmations hanging all over it. Arlene put it there and asked friends to write “love notes on sparkle shapes” to hang as reminders of how loved and healthy I am. Yesterday, the tree was decorated with mini-mini-lights and lit up! All the “love notes” are the gifts circling the tree. My life is filled with the colors of love.

Love Letter to Life 11.26.2021 Face Everything And Recover

Dear Life, Waking at 4am when the body’s chemicals are churning can be a mental minefield. The “what if’s” conjure up fear and say, F**k Everything And Run! The cacophony is quieted with another acronym, Face Everything And Recover. Gratefully, I slept within minutes. My mind has been trained to redirect. I love this photo I took of crows in tangled tree branches. It illustrates no matter how tangled my thoughts can appear, within it is my Higher Power, a partnership that lifts me through it all.

Love Letter to Life 11.25.2021 Lifting Up Gratitude

Dear Life, No matter the time, the circumstances, or people involved, I breathe deep into my belly and with gratitude say, “I’m grateful I’ll be eating Turkey and Pumpkin Pie today!” My love goes out to everyone everywhere for being a part of my life’s journey. Enjoy this day and whatever brings you gratitude < I am grateful for you.

Love Letters to Life 11.24.2021 Sacred Interiors

Dear Life, Yesterday, Dr. Bennett and nurse Lauren, smoothly performed multiple biopsies. “Sounds like a nail gun” each time a bit of me was clipped from my pelvic. Came home and took a walk. I’m grateful I can walk, make art, talk on the phone with family and friends, and not open the biopsy report until Dr. Snyder sees me next week after talks with my team about the results and what’s next. Patience helps keep my Sacred Interior peaceful. Sacred Interior is the multiple layers reflected in my life above and below the waterline. I am a high profile introvert. I love connecting with others and also need personal quiet time for creating, reflecting, rejuvenating. My best days are a balance of both.
Yesterday, was a good day.
Yours Truly, Pamela Rose

Love Letter to Life 11.23.2021 Woke Early With A Noisy Head

Dear Life, Today, I get a pelvic biopsy at 1:00pm. Results will be next week due to holiday. Woke early, rattling around in my head so quickly affirmed my commitment to live through these medical experiences with grace. Feel the feelings and let them pass. Fear and anxiety are replaced with faith and curiosity. I’m in the hands of excellent medical professionals. I’m in the hearts of loving family and friends. I’m in the Grace of a Higher Power, I whole-heartedly trust. Thank you.
Yours Truly, Pamela Rose
