Love Letter to Life 12.27.2021 Eyes to Thighs

Dear Life, Winter has made an entrance to Santa Fe covering the mountaintops and wind blowing crisp, cold air. I am enjoying my cozy place with the Dual Inverters blowing warmth into every room. I’m staying home today fasting because tomorrow at 8:00am, I brave the cold for yet another look at my insides, “an eyes to thighs” Petscan. The whole process takes about two hours: first an infusion that takes an hour for the chemicals to go through my system while I sit quietly in a dark room. After that, it’s onto the moving table and into the cold, dark, long tube with a mask on for 30-45 minutes. Only once did I feel really panicked trying to breathe. My mind said, “Remember to meditate, breathe in and breathe out with ease”. Today and tomorrow and everyday.

Love Letter to Life 12.26.2021 Little Things

Dear Life, What keeps me living in a state of gratitude? With the end of the year coming up, I read many “pitches” from spiritual and book sites suggesting the exercise, “Pretend you had one year, one day, one hour, to live. What would you do?” It’s not possible for me to live conceptually, to pretend. We all have an expiration date and no one knows what that date is so why pretend. I am living. This moment. This is it. This is my best day, best hour.
And I love the little things that make it so.

Love Letter to Life 12.25.2021 Life With Love

Dear Life, Christmas morning. Quiet time to look at all the photos taken this past year capturing moments of a life filled with love and beauty. Also many first time events such as the reunion with my daughter Tracy and meeting her children. A miracle. No matter what life threw at me, I stood side-by-side with loved ones and we walked forward into the unknowns linked in love. My love and gratitude go out to you all.
You are my gift for all seasons.
Yours Truly, Pamela Rose

Love Letters to Life 12.24.2021 The Promise of Light

Dear Life, While my family in Connecticut prepares for tonight’s feast and gift wrapping fight, a light snow covered the ground and all is looking good for Santa and his Reindeer. Here amongst the pinon and juniper of Northern New Mexico, snow is in the mountains while it drizzles on the city of Santa Fe but, I, the forever optimist, hope to wake tomorrow to a white wonderland. I believe in miracles and wonders and light and love.

Love Letter to Life 12.23.2021 Keep It Simple

Dear Life, Many Christmas holidays have been with my family in Connecticut. Delicious meals, festive games, and wild wrapping paper fights after all the gifts were happily unwrapped. This year, the tradition continues in CT at my sister’s house. Arlene’s grandchildren are of the age that Santa is real and sugar is permitted in large doses. Violet, 3, and Max, 5, are totally out of their minds with excitement. My heart and spirit miss them and everyone in the East. A glance back makes me a little homesick and happy with fond memories. For me, no travel due to covid and health restrictions. However, I’m grateful for all the friends, love and celebrations here with my “Santa Fe family”.
Sending love to everyone everywhere.
Yours Truly, Pamela Rose

Love Letter to Life 12.22.2021 Take A Vacation From Cancer

Dear Life, I am on orders from my therapist to “take a vacation from cancer” during the holiday season with only a must-have Petscan stuck into the schedule on Dec 28th. So in my mind, I’m off on a great adventure while in reality I’m in self-quarantine. I can safely visit with friends and go on a few outings. Anyone know of a 2021 Crosstrek available that can be wrapped in a ribbon? Yes, I’m still on the car search. Looking like Spring before a car rolls into my life. I’ve asked Santa’s Helpers to show me some Love and Miracles At Christmas.
Let’s see what happens!

Love Letter to Life 12.20.2021 Love Is Out There

Dear Life, I cut this ad out of a magazine in 2020 and kept it on my art table. “Great marketing”, I thought, “especially for a romantic like me”. And a 21 year Subaru Outback owner. Well, now I need a new car and Covid has jacked up prices and backed up delivery on cars. Is anyone who is reading this have connections in the Subaru industry? This girl is looking to seat herself in a Crosstrek in the near future to safely get me to Cancer Clinical Trail treatments and do other fun stuff. Love is out there!

Love Letter to Life 12.18.21 Chill Factor 9 degrees

Dear Life, Baby it’s cold outside! I’ve chilled inside since Tuesday, recuperating and resting. Appointments are set for Petscan 12/28, Bloodwork 1/3, and first immunotherapy treatment 1/04. Hello Holidays and New Year. Not the usual Holiday Party schedule. However, it’s a life-saving hope for me. So I’m all in! This morning, a friend is taking me to the Subaru dealership. I’ll be dressed like a Polar Bear so I don’t turn blue. My great 21 year old Subaru has seen better days so I need reliable transportation. The Clinical Trail is two years. New roads ahead. Merry Christmas to me with a big red ribbon!
Yours Truly, Pamela Rose
