Love Letter to Life 06.24.2021 Arioso Experience

Dear Life, An afternoon at Arioso with good friends and extraordinary chef/artist Julian Sibony is good medicine for the Body and Soul. The “kitchen-garden bistro” is tucked off the highway in Chili, NM offering a unique dining experience. Thank you chef Julian, Marilyn (birthday girl) and Sandy, for a festive and wonderful gastronomic day.
A bite of heaven on earth with cake! My belly is round and full of love.

Love Letter to Life 06.23.2021 Rosie’s 91 Birthday

Dear Life, Mom turns 91 today. I am so grateful for the wonderful visit in April when she and Tracy, my daughter, met. So much joy. Today, Rosie is in rehab after several trips to the hospital. Her mind is sharp as a pin (she can tell you everything going on with family, past and present) however her body is showing signs of 91 years.
Let’s all send a shout out of love for Rosie via the airways for her birthday!
Yours Truly, Pamela Rose

Love Letter to Life 06.22.2021 Well-Being Begins In…

Dear Life, My well-being begins within my thoughts and loving self-care. The daily Practice of Gratitude is a “view finder” for life’s gifts regardless of temporary challenges or setbacks. I am grateful for birds singing, healthy food and taste buds that work, visits with friends, the color aqua, good magazines for making collages, sobriety, healing energy, and freedom.
I am grateful to be alive today and see my fingernails growing!

Love Letter to Life 06.20.2021 Healing Images and Words

Preview(opens in a new tab)

Dear Life, I watched this video while hanging out in bed. Corita Kent has long been in my vision and an inspiration. Beginning in the 60’s, she took everyday language and created beautiful “messaging” images. Corita asked her students to look through a “View Finder” (a piece of paper with a square cut out of the middle) to “frame” what one sees. I can take this simple tool and become a Healing View Finder.
We change lives by finding and living into a new view of the future, one word at a time, one person at a time. Thank you for traveling with me.

Love Letter to Life 06.18.2021 Skin Wrapped Around Chemicals

Dear Life, Chemotherapy is challenging. I feel like my skin is wrapped around a bunch of active chemicals. It’s uncomfortable and tiring. Today I have one last injection then rest and recover. The calendar is set for “Little Denver” July 6-8th: Multiple Tests and “Big Denver” July 23-Sep 8th: Stem Cell Replacement.
I breathe into this moment and remember: LIVE and LOVE NOW

Love Letter to Life 06.17.2021 Leaving Hospital Soon

Dear Life, Fourth day of chemo almost complete. I am packing up and getting ready to go home. I had wonderful care from team here at Christus Hospital. Now I go home to rest and rejuvenate. Here’s a pic of my building recently taken at sunset. My loft is on the left sticking out. Glad to know my plants, paintings, and bed are waiting for me. Thank you all for your loving messages and prayers.

Love Letter to Life 06.16.2021 Health First 100%

Dear Life, Due to the uptick in Covid and my compromised immune system, I canceled my trip to NYC/CT to visit family. The focus for next 6 months will be health and treatments. I am in Christus hospital now getting 4 days of chemotherapy. On July 6-8th I’ll be in Denver for the tests to determine if we can proceed with Stem Cell Replacement (have to be cancer free) and that is scheduled for July 21st – September 15th. As these Denver dates approach, I feel the gravity of my diagnosis, prognosis and treatment plan. The trip East and coordinating all the travel plans began to overwhelm me. A still small voice within said, “Wait. Focus on health.” My goal along with doctors is to “hit a home run and cure me”. We are aligned for the game for my life! Thank you all for your love and understanding.

Love Letter to Life 06.12.21 The Jitter Bugs

Dear Life, Yesterday the Denver Hospital confirmed Stem Cell Replacement Treatment schedule, July – Sep. A therapist told me: “Anxiety and excitement create the same chemical response in the body”. Reminds me of something I once told a musician who gets anxious before performances: “You have the jitter bugs, Divine Anxiety. Remember, you walk onto that stage and they all love you”.
Breathe and feel the love. Then walk with Grace a step at a time.
